Dear Jackson Jets Families,

Welcome to the 2025–2026 school year at Lydia Jackson College Prep Academy! I hope your summer was filled with rest, joy, and special memories with loved ones. We are eager to welcome back our returning students and extend a warm greeting to those who are new to our school community.

This year, we are ready to SOAR to Success together! Our dedicated staff has been working diligently to prepare for a year filled with meaningful learning, growth, and achievement. We believe in the incredible potential of every student and are committed to partnering with you to help them thrive by building strong academic habits, fostering student agency, and promoting a college-going mindset through our schoolwide AVID program (Advancement Via Individual Determination).  AVID at the elementary level helps students develop skills in organization, goal setting, collaboration, and critical thinking—laying the foundation for success in school and beyond. Together, we will empower our Jackson Jets to take flight toward a bright future.

We also encourage and invite our families to be involved throughout the year. Join us for school meetings, family events, and volunteer opportunities—your partnership is essential to our students’ success and the strength of our school community. Opportunities to sign up and get involved will be available at Jackson Jets Take Off Day, on our school website, and in our front office.

Please mark your calendars for our Jackson Jets Take Off Day on Monday, August 11, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.. Come meet your child’s teacher, pick up important school information, purchase a school shirt, and get ready for a strong start to the school year.

We also invite all Transitional Kindergarten (TK) and Kindergarten families to join us for a special Orientation Day on Wednesday, August 6, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. This will be a great opportunity for your child to get comfortable with their classroom and for families to meet the teacher and learn about the school day.

And finally, don’t forget that the First Day of School is Wednesday, August 13, 2025. We can’t wait to welcome our Jackson Jets back on campus and launch into a year of connection, learning, and success.
